Christmas Decoration Shopping Tips

Tip 2- Make A Budget.

A budget is a necessary tool when it comes to scoring great deals and low prices so that you can afford to complete your Christmas look. Unfortunately I purchased all of my Christmas items during the winter season so many items were close to full price, but purchasing off season can help to save you tons of money.  Many stores slash prices immediately following Christmas 106466863for many seasonal items including Christmas decorations and lights. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are also great opportunities to get your Christmas decorations at low prices. Your budget will determine how much you are willing to spend on Christmas decorations so that you don’t get side-tracked or overwhelmed while shopping. Some items you may want to include on your Christmas decorations budget are:

  • Christmas lights (indoor and outdoor)
  • Garlands
  • A wreath
  • Christmas Tree
  • Festive Towels for your powder room
  • Table cloth
  • Decorative Bulbs
  • Stockings
  • Candle Holders

There are many different items that you may wish to include on your budget depending on your decorating style. Just make sure to look for sale items and to keep a running tab.

Tip 3- Think Long-term.

Although trends and fads might look really neat, it is a good idea to keep in mind that you will want to use these items year after year in order to get the most value for your dollar. This means that sticking to more traditional decorating86517640 items so that they will not go out of style quickly (if ever). I tend to steer clear of flashing, timed and colorful lights indoors and save them for outdoor use. I also purchase my children their own decoration every year. It has become somewhat a family tradition, where the kids look forward to seeing past decorations they have chosen and searching for one for this year. I look for subdued decorations for the table and mantle- like candle holders and glass bulbs. I tend to stick to festive neutrals (silvers, whites, golds) which allows me to easily incorporate them year after year no matter what my color scheme is. It is important to think not only of this Christmas season, but of seasons to come as well, to get the most out of your Christmas decorations.
